Eugene (“Gene”) Franklin Armstrong, of Arlington Heights. Passed away 6/8/2015 and is survived by beloved wife Mary Ellen nee Olsen Armstrong, daughter Judith Ellen Armstrong and beloved dog Pixie.

Gene was born in Streator, Illinois, 5/17/1925 to parents Wayne F. Armstrong and Gertrude Esther nee Cavanaugh Armstrong. Preceded in death by sister Evelyn nee Armstrong Webb and brother in law Leonard Webb.

Longstanding Member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge in Elgin. Gene was a salesman for many years for Davies Supply Company of Chicago, from which he retired at age 62, relieved that his daughter graduated IIT Chicago Kent Law School and secured gainful employment.  He was a lifelong, avid billiards player and during retirement owned his business, Cues Plus, which supplied pool cues, supplies and table recovering services for consumer and commercial accounts. He enjoyed playing the piano all of his life, and he also enjoyed a good game of cribbage or poker with his friends at the Moose Lodge. Eugene was a “meat and potatoes” man, and refused to eat chicken, fish or vegetables, although he ate turkey at Thanksgiving at the request of his wife and daughter for the sake of tradition.  He enjoyed a good martini back in the day, or a scotch and water. He was also a Cubs fan, and obviously withstood many years of disappointment from their lack of post-season play. He was known for his sense of humor, and outgoing nature. He did not attend a particular house of worship, but believed in God.
